On 25 August, we brought together our sponsored students under the MakSPH–CTRIAD Grant, cohorts of 2025 and 2026, for a joint familiarization session.
The 2025 cohort shared updates on their research and studies, presenting data collected and progress in interpretation. The 2026 cohort introduced their research topics, receiving valuable feedback from the wider team to strengthen their work as they advance in their studies.
At a time when data shapes policy and evidence drives conversations with decision-makers, nurturing rigorous and authentic research has never been more important. Understanding the true extent of injury-related issues from road crashes to drowning, allows CTRIAD to make credible public health cases that influence policy and ultimately save lives.
We are proud to invest in students who will carry this work forward, ensuring that injury prevention research continues to grow and impact communities across Uganda and beyond.
